There's a lot of history here...

The Dutch Ale House originally opened on December 6th 1933, the day after Prohibition ended. One has to wonder how they were fully stocked and ready to go. It was originally Oat Whitaker, starting out as the local watering hole. It was later purchased by Jack Colby, and continued its tradition as the local pub, that also “ran the numbers” in the basement. There was a buzzer on the wall (still by table 7) that you pushed if you wanted to go down and place your bets…
